The Mezzo Anne Pareuil is today recognized as one of the most attractive French voices for the richness and depth of her instrument. Her dark and strong lower register allows her to sing with ease the mezzo-alto repertoire such as La Cieca (gioconda), La Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) or Erda as well as mezzo-soprano parts such as Hedwige in William Tell, Neris, Dalila or Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro that she enhanced in many different productions thanks to her natural vivacity and vocal qualities.
Anne created the charismatic part of Madame de Croissy in Asia at the Korean National Opera in Seoul along with Annick Massis, conducted by Mo Daniel Kawka in a new Stanislas Nordey production .
Among her other engagements, Anne went to Japan for the Paris Opéra as cover of Jane Henschel in the part of La Nourrice from Ariane et Barbe-Bleue by P.Dukas with Deborah Polaski .
Born in France from Italian and French parents, Anne Pareuil in the first part of her life lived in Ivory Coast, then returned to Paris to start her musical studies at the National Superior Music Conservatory of Paris, in the class of Jane Berbié, who discovered at the time her warm mezzo-soprano voice .
After winning the First Price at “Concours des Maîtres du Chant Français” followed by the Price of Maurice Ravel at the “Concours International du Tryptique” for her interpretation of Histoires Naturelles, Anne Pareuil, then in her 24th year, sang in a Duo Recital with the baritone José Van Dam at the prestigious Théâtre de Paris-Châtelet (retransmission France Musique, Radio-France).
In 1994 started to work at the Ecole d’Art Lyrique of the Paris-Bastille Opera House where Mr Jean-Marie Blanchard immediatly hired her tos take part in part “Les Brigands” by J.Offenbach with Jerôme Deschamps company. The following she worked in Dialogues des Carmélites by Poulenc, conducted by Cyril Diederich and directed by Alain Garichot at Palais Garnier, in the role of Mère Marie de l’Incarnation.
